Back on the boat

We arrived at Tommy Dundee around lunch time yesterday after a three day drive from Somerset, PA to Portland, ME. We spent Friday night with Carla and Drew Barrett, our good friends near Philadelphia, and their twin boys Zack and Jake. We got a late start Saturday, so we spent Saturday night at a Fairfield Inn. Then on Sunday we drove the rest of the way to Tommy Dundee. After arriving at Tommy Dundee, Sara and the girls went out for lunch, returned the rental car, and looked around Portland.

Scituate, MA

We sailed from Falmouth to Scituate today(7/12/12); our sail took about 9 hours. During the sail Sara, Meg, and Katie played card games and dice. We arrived around 5:30 and picked up a mooring ball. We are currently enjoying dinner in a restaurant overlooking the
harbor.

Boston, MA

On July 14th we visited the New England Aquarium, and on July 15th we visited the science museum. On the 16th, we celebrated Katie's birthday; Jessica Parker(Katie and Meg's cousin) joined us for dinner. Today, we went to a Boston Red Sox game and experienced the Boston subways...

Martha's Vineyard

We arrived in Martha's Vineyard after sailing through Quick's Hole, which was full of big rocks and strong currents. We picked up a mooring ball in Vineyard Haven (the main harbor on the island). We met up with the Stewarts and LaGuardias and went to the Back Door Donuts shop in Oak Bluffs. We rode our bikes over much of the island including all over Edgartown and out to South Beach. Recently, we discovered that our steering cable is badly damaged and needs to be completely replaced. This repair cannot be done on the island, so we are going to Falmouth(on the mainland) on Monday.
